It all began in 2011, when inventor Erik Thorstensson discovered that the plastic waste from IKEA’s lamp shade production could be used to create simple connectors that attach to straws and cardboard, which later came to be known as Strawbees.
Strawbees kits are based on simple units called Strawbees that let you connect straws to each other. Build little to huge mechanical objects from just straws and cardboard, stimulating the imagination and encourages storytelling endlessly.
With Strawbees you can always modify things as you go, add straws, cut straws, or add new connections to get a sturdier, more flexible or bigger structure. Nothing is destroyed, only modified. Playing and having fun is the best way to learn about the world. Play, Learn & Invent!
